Xbox Games Pass is about to remove and replace some of the games in its catalog, with some of the more noteworthy gains being Undertale, Middle-earth: Shadow of War and Dead Rising 4.
Games coming to Xbox Game Pass this month:
July 4
July 11
Undertale is an acclaimed RPG that takes inspiration from Nintendo’s EarthBound series, and it’s been released on several platforms. Dead Rising 4, however, is a game I strongly disliked, as detailed in my review. Among other things, I derided it for being a disingenuous attempt at honoring the series’ history and for otherwise being a glitchy, slapdash game. Capcom Vancouver’s first (and most successful) crack at the series, Dead Rising 2, will leave the service at the end of the month; I suggest playing that instead.
Games leaving the Xbox Game Pass on consoles this month:
Additionally, those subscribed to Xbox Games Pass will be able to sample the Gears 5 versus mode this month. Quests are also being dolled out, rewarding players for enjoying games that include “Monster Hunter: World, Hollow Knight, Forza Horizon 4, LEGO Batman and many, many more” titles.
