It’s been a hard year to obtain a PS5. From scalpers buying and selling PS5’s for obscene prices to Sony only selling them via online retailers, those who got their hands on one legally were lucky, to say the least. During the launch of Sony’s next-gen system, many residents of the United Kingdom have had their PS5 orders stolen. Many consumers have noted that they have been receiving other items, such as food fryers, pet food and even fitness equipment. Some didn’t have their orders arrive at all.
However, things seem to be going on the up and up, as Amazon UK has been contacting customers whose PS5′ were taken and will be replacing them in the United Kingdom. Recently, Push Square journalist Anthony Dickens tweeted an email he received from Amazon UK that they will be sending out replacement PS5’s to those who never received theirs. Dickens didn’t receive his PS5 order, but instead got a Nerf Gun.
The email also states that the offer “is solely for the purpose of replacing the PlayStation 5 that you ordered. It cannot be transferred to another customer and cannot be used to purchase additional units of the PlayStation 5.”
The PS5 launched in Europe on November 19, 2020.
