For the last decade of open-world RPGs, the developers have kept the games pretty open. In Bethesda’s Fallout and Skyrim series, you can basically do anything you want to any NPC in the open-world. Well, CD Projekt Red’s anticipated Cyberpunk 2077 won’t allow you to hurt the children in Night City, as well as story-related NPCs that will play an impactful part in the narrative.
Cyberpunk 2077 takes place in Night City, a dystopian metropolis with tons cybernetic engineered NPCs to interact with. Running around the open streets in Night City is going to be one of the 100 activities that CD Projekt Red will have in store for us, and you can still fight multiple gang members, cops, big-time corporate bosses and even innocent civilians. But not children and story-related NPCs.
“You won’t be able to attack children or NPCs connected with the plot,” reads a reply from CD Projekt Red after a Reddit user asked them what violent activities you can do with the main character, V, according to PC Gamer. “But other than that you can be aggressive towards most people you meet.”
If you try to hurt any gang related members or cops, your notoriety will increase and they will begin to come after you. To be fair, it makes complete sense why CD Projekt Red incorporated this detail. There’s no need to injure or harm NPC children “for fun.”
According to Game Reactor, around a third of the pre-orders solely from PC are from CD Projekt’s GOG platform, saying that there is “a much more of a possibility” regarding a new Cyberpunk film that will involve the one and only Keanu Reeves, who portrays a character in the game. Currently, CD has three different projects under development, and I, along with millions of others, are ready for Cyberpunk 2077‘s April release.
