‘Death Stranding’ Originally Attempted To Sign Keanu Reeves To Act In Game

Death Stranding is an anticipated PlayStation 4 exclusive that has a great cast of high-level actors participating in making the game come to life. You play as Norman Reedus (from The Walking Dead), who is the main character in an isolated world. Mads Mikkelsen, from the MCU’s Doctor Strange and Hannibal is also in the game. During the San Diego Comic-Con event this past weekend, Hideo Kojima and movie director Nicolas Winding-Refn revealed that they tried to get Keanu Reeves (John Wick and The Matrix), who will be featured in next year’s release of Cyberpunk 2077.

“I originally was recommended Keanu Reeves, but I wanted Mads,” Kojima said, according to Gamespot.

Reeves is an in-demand video game actor, as he is one of the more popular A-list actors that gamers seem to love. CD Projekt Red snatched him up first, and he seemed to put in a ton of time in the upcoming Cyberpunk game, as he is listed as one of the main characters in the new game.

Death Stranding, however, has an outstanding cast in itself. Reedus and Mikkelsen will run the game with their captivating performances and voice acting, while the game itself seems to be an exciting PlayStation exclusive. After all, you’ll be inside Reedus’ character’s head during the game as he plays the protagonist.

“You’re alone playing as Sam (Norman Reedus); you’re trying to connect city to city. I can’t speak much but everyone will be playing around the world and we’ll have an indirect connections,” Kojima said, according to Gamespot. “I’m an Otaku and I felt like my teachers and family didn’t understand me. I came to SDCC 10 years ago and met a lot of people like me, so I think that’s what you’ll get from this game.”

Recent reports have regarded that Death Stranding could possibly come to the new PS5 instead, but no further details have been announced. The next-gen consoles are set to release next holiday season, and Death Stranding could be an anticipated bundle with Sony’s. The game is set to be released for the PlayStation 4 on November 8.
