GameStop Will Close For Thanksgiving

GameStop has been trying all it can to stay afloat over the last couple of months. From claiming that it is an essential business during the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic to its recent partnership with Microsoft, the gaming store has been doing a lot to make sure it’s still around for the long run.

Recently, GameStop has announced that it will be closing its stores this Thanksgiving while still participating in Black Friday this year online. GameStop has not yet released its official plans for this year’s sales. As reported in a newsletter on the company’s business website, GameStop will be partaking in more pre-Black Friday sales but will remain closed on Thanksgiving.

“While we are passionate about serving our customers, we want both our guests and our associates to have the opportunity to enjoy the Thanksgiving holiday and spend time with family and friends,” said George Sherman, chief executive officer for GameStop.
