In August, 343 Industries opened a technical test for Halo Infinite to offer the first-hand multiplayer experience of the game and collect feedback from the data.
While the last beta has ended, 343 Industries will hold another trial before the game mode’s release. For those who didn’t get a chance to play the beta, or simply didn’t know how to join, we’ve got you covered.
Firstly, visit the official Halo Waypoint website to become a Halo Insider. You’ll need to provide your email address, console, and platforms of preference and other personal details to participate in the Halo Insider program.
Becoming a Halo Insider is the first step required to access the technical flight, but your chances still are not guaranteed. 343 still needs to limit how many entrances they offer to accurately collect the data and feedback for game improvement.
The game’s updated radar has sparked a heated discussion in the community. In the past, players showed up on an enemy’s radar when either running or walking. The effective way to dodge the radar was to crouch.
In the latest beta, however, the radar only functions when players sprint, shoot or move in other fast ways, such as falling. In other words, you can walk like an IG model on the street without registering on an enemy’s radar. Some believe this new setting makes the game way more competitive and, therefore thrilling, while others prefer the previous version.
While the latest beta has ended, 343 has hinted that another technical test might take place. “If all goes well, we’ll invite even more eligible Halo Insiders for the next flight,” a 343 blog post said.
Community director Brian Jarrad also showed his gratitude for players’ support and outlined the developer teams’ following steps.
“So, what next? We have teams across the studio digging into game data, crash logs, bug tickets, and feedback threads to turn into actionable items as warranted. Good news is, with this build being a couple months behind, many common issues/themes are already addressed,” Jarrard said. “A subset of participants will receive an official user research survey via email – please keep your eyes out for this! It’s another way to help us get targeted input and your response is greatly appreciated. (not everyone will receive a survey given scale of this flight).”
The next beta date has not yet been announced. Stay tuned for the updates on Halo Infinite‘s website.
