New ‘Pokémon TCG Pocket’ Cards Are Coming Soon

After recently releasing on Oct. 30, Pokémon‘s official TCG Pocket mobile game has Pokémon fans hooked and ready for more. Loyal TCG Pocket fans are in luck as a datamine suggests that additions to the game are just over the horizon.

Pokémon TCG Pocket launched with the starting set Genetic Apex which features a total of 286 digital cards to collect including 60 secret rare cards. With the game having been out for nearly one month already, some dedicated players are getting closer to reaching that full 286 card collection and may be wondering when new sets will be released. Although Nintendo has not made an official statement on any updates or new content for the mobile game as of now, some fans have been able to make educated guesses about new features that should be arriving within the next two months.

One Pokémon community member on X, Centro LEAKS, outlines a potential upcoming release schedule for Pokémon TCG Pocket by digging into details from a recent update on the app. This outline reveals the possibility for new booster packs and new events in the next month as well as a new card set altogether to be released around Jan. 29 at the beginning of next year. Centro LEAKS also suspects that “a new card rarity will be introduced” based on a new graphic.

These predictions were deduced based on name changes in the code which designates current in-game events as A1 that change to A2 after January. However, there are also changes that indicate new cards to appear before then. There is an A1a booster pack event that is projected to begin around Dec. 17. This seems to be more of a mini-expansion of the current Genetic Apex set. This should be a relief for daily players of the mobile game who may collect nearly all of the launch set by this time.

Datamind findings suggest that there may be a new in-game store update coming on Dec. 1 in addition to a Bulbasaur-themed feature soon after that. This month, there appears to be an upcoming part two to the ongoing Meowth event, a possible Black Friday event and an unknown feature called “Mass Outbreak.”

Though we can’t know for sure what is actually coming to Pokémon TCG Pocket until it is finally here, these leaks do indicate some very realistic and very promising additions to this beloved new mobile game.
