Deshaun Watson, Kyler Murray, Jamal Adams and Derrick Henry are some of the announced professional NFL players participating in the upcoming virtual Pro Bowl that will be played using Madden NFL 21.
While the Pro Bowl is regularly played in person, COVID-19 precautions led to the NFL’s turn to eSports. The event will begin at 5 p.m. EST hosted by Charissa Thompson and Michael Strahan and streamed from the NFL’s official Twitch channel as well as through their social media accounts.
Watson, Henry, Snoop Dogg and Keyshawn Johnson will represent the AFC. Murray, Adams, Bubba Wallace and Marshawn Lynch will represent the NFC.
“We’ll be taking the Pro Bowl to the virtual world of Madden this weekend and I can’t wait to do it big with football fans in my favorite game,” said Snoop Dogg, who has presented Madden eSport events in recent years.
The NFL is expected to treat the virtual event with just as much significance as traditional in-person games. Before the event, there will be several interviews with key players and multiple streamers plan to host watch parties for the NFL event.
