To recap yesterday’s top story, Nintendo finally revealed the long rumored Nintendo Switch Lite, a revelation that surprised no one. Nevertheless, I maintain it’ll be a welcome addition to Nintendo’s hardware lineup, serving as an entry-level device to allow more people access into the Switch ecosystem. But for those of us who own the standard Switch, new games were released today through the Nintendo eShop.
DRAGON QUEST BUILDERS 2 is Square Enix’s latest entry in their venerable JRPG series. Here, you’ll explore islands in your quest to defeat the latest ancient evil to have risen. You’ll also craft and build your own towns (hence the game’s name) and shield them from monster attacks. BUILDERS 2 launches tomorrow, and DLC packs will start rolling out on July 26. One will be free, and the Season Pass can be bought for $20.99.
GOD EATER 3 will also hit stores tomorrow. The latest installment in Bandai Namco’s action series, and the first to hit the Switch, is billed as having an “intriguing story, distinct characters and stylish, high-speed combat.”
In related news, Dr. Mario World has finally launched for smartphones, and fellow mobile title Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp is partnering with Sanrio. Beginning today, players can obtain in-game items sporting the likeness of similarly cutesy mascots like Hello Kitty and Cinnamoroll, with more coming later.
