Nintendo’s E3 Contains New ‘Breath Of The Wild’ Sequel, New ‘Smash’ Characters And More

The last major panel of E3 belonged to Nintendo. Their presentation included a whopping 14 new projects to announce and touch on. The rapid-fire broadcast included some great, some not so great projects the Japanese company has been working on. For the Nintendo Switch, the long-awaited Animal Crossing is being delayed to March 2020, while the critically acclaimed Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is getting a sequel. There was also an update on the Switch’s Luigi’s Mansion, as well as two new Super Smash Bros. characters coming in the fall.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons, which was originally promised in 2019, has been delayed to March 2020. The good news is the game looks prominent as the trailer shows actual gameplay. According to Kotaku, Nintendo will reveal much more information about the new Animal Crossing title in their Treehouse live streams, which are on Wednesday and Thursday.

Nintendo’s Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, which received a 10/10 from Gamespot, Wired UK and IGN, is developing a sequel. There wasn’t much revealing in the teaser trailer, only that they were announcing that the sequel is currently in development. Fans will want to tell Nintendo to take their sweet time developing this one, as its predecessor is almost a flawless open-world RPG. The trailer shows that Nintendo might be taking a darker route with this one. Check it out for yourself:

Luigi’s Mansion 3 wasn’t the biggest announcement Nintendo had, but the game itself looks like it has potential. The graphics are astonishing from a Switch perspective, and has new co-op play with Luigi teaming up with “Gooigi” that has its own respective abilities. The spooky new Luigi title is set to drop later in 2019, with more information likely to come from Nintendo’s Treehouse live streams.

Everyone’s favorite game, Super Smash Bros. is incorporating everyone’s favorite Rare characters, Banjo-Kazooie, coming sometime this fall. Nintendo is also bringing Dragon Quest’s Hero into the fight this summer. Banjo-Kazooie seems to play like Duck Hunt, combining teamwork with the two for some serious combo moves.

Fans always debate with one another on who “won” that year’s E3. With Microsoft announcing Keanu Reeves will be in Cyberpunk 2077, and Ubisoft announcing a plethora of games and free DLC, Nintendo is at the top with fans, and there are still more announcements from the Switch creators in the coming future.
