'No More Heroes 3'
A lot of development studios in Japan were hit hard by COVID-19, and that seems to be the case with Grasshopper Studios, the team behind the No More Heroes series. Since the original released on the Wii back in 2008, the franchise has developed a large cult-following. However, Grasshopper Studios’ announced on their official Twitter account that their latest title, No More Heroes III, will now be launching in 2021, rather than this year.
“All staff members at Grasshopper have been working as hard as possible on developing the game in hopes of releasing it in 2020, but the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic have unfortunately proven to be a real body blow to our schedule, causing unforeseen delays in development,” reads the official statement from GS founder/No More Heroes creator, Suda 51. “Now that we have managed to get back on our feet with development, we have decided to focus on prioritizing quality and to therefore push back the final release date.
“Very sorry once again. We hope that everyone who has been waiting patiently for No More Heroes III can understand and accept this decision, and we will continue to put every effort into the title’s development as we shoot for a 2021 release date,” he said.
No More Heroes III was initially revealed in 2019 at The Game Awards.
