In celebration of the Pokemon series’ 25th anniversary, singer Post Malone will perform a virtual concert Saturday. The song itself, however, has already been released as an audio-only version on YouTube. The new song is a cover of Hootie and the Blowfish’s song “Only Wanna Be With You,” now with the subtitle “Pokemon 25 Version.”
The reveal trailer for Post Malone’s performance showed that the singer will take on a virtual form himself, likely to perform alongside Pokemon. Being that the Pokemon Company unveiled multiple new game announcements Friday including a remake of Pokemon Diamond and Pokemon Pearl as well as a new open-world exploration Pokemon game, the company is shaping up to make this week one of Pokemon’s finest in history.
Saturday’s virtual concert feature the new song will stream live from the Pokemon company’s official YouTube and Twitch channels Saturday, 7:00 p.m. EST.
