‘Red Dead Online’ Will Now Be A Standalone Game

For the past year, people have been enjoying the world of Red Dead Online as part of Red Dead Redemption II. However, things are about to change for those who want to play both the single-player and multiplayer components of Rockstar’s latest game. Starting in December, Rockstar will be making Red Dead Online a standalone title instead of being an add-on to Red Dead Redemption II.

Rockstar has announced that Red Dead Online will be sold for $4.99 in December. But, by the time February 15, 2021, rears its head, Red Dead Online will cost $19.99. Along with the standalone release, Red Dead Online will need at least 123 gigs of memory to store. Red Dead Online won’t be the only multiplayer mode being sold as a separate title. Previously, Rockstar announced that Grand Theft Auto Online, the multiplayer mode for Grand Theft Auto V, will also be sold as a standalone experience for a similar price when GTA V arrives on PS5 and Xbox Series X next year.

Red Dead Redemption II was released on PS4 and Xbox One on October 26, 2018, before being ported to PC on November 19, 2019. Red Dead Online was released on May 15, 2019.
