A high-definition remaster of the Atlus game Shin Megami Tensei 3: Nocturn is coming to PlayStation 4, Switch and PC on May 25. Recent footage of the PC version of Nocturn through Steam show that the 2003 RPG will still run at 30 frames-per-second. While not a crushing, nor unexpected development, it would have been nice to see the classic game in a new, smooth light.
The PC version’s FPS cap was first noticed by Josh Torres, staff writer for RPG Site.
Players of the PlayStation 2 original of Nocturn will quickly realize that the game’s models and backgrounds have been sharpened and retouched to perfection. the dread-lined adventure is sure to still be a hit with series fans, but it is still disappointing that even the PC version of Nocturn won’t have an increased frame-cap. Atlus is forgiven, as Nocturn will be featuring Dante from the Devil May Cry series as paid DLC.
