The 12 Best Announcements From Xbox Games Showcase 2024

Microsoft held its Xbox Games Showcase on June 9, showcasing new games, familiar titles and information about upcoming releases. Here are the most exciting announcements from 2024’s Xbox Games Showcase.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6

The newest Call of Duty game will be released on October 25 and is coming to Xbox Game Pass day one. More gameplay and information on the title were shown at the Call of Duty Direct immediately following the Xbox Games Showcase.

Doom: The Dark Ages

The next title in the Doom series was announced. Doom Guy will be sent back in time in this title, expected to be released in 2025.

State of Decay 3

This game is a new entry in the Xbox-exclusive series, which takes place years after State of Decay 2State of Decay 3 was announced all the way back in 2020, but there has been radio silence on the title up until now. There is no release date yet, but the trailer showcases what players can expect from the return to the franchise.

Dragon Age: The Vileguard

The fourth Dragon Age game, previously titled “Dreadwolf,” was showcased. Following the presentation, more gameplay was released. The game is expected to launch later this year.

Starfield DLC

Starfield‘s DLC, “Shattered Space,” showcased the horror of space and brought horror elements into Starfield. Following the presentation, some minor updates to Starfield were also launched.

World of Warcraft Expansion

World of Warcraft‘s next expansion, “The War Within,” will be released on August 26.

Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater

A new trailer for the remake of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater was shown. While no release date was given, players got to see the revamped cutscenes and gameplay of the remake.

Perfect Dark

The first Perfect Dark game since the 2010 remaster of the original was shown. This is the first look at gameplay for the title.

Fable

The next entry in the critically acclaimed Fable series was given a small trailer. The game is expected to be released in 2025.

Life is Strange: Double Exposure

The new entry in the Life is Strange series sees the return of Max Caulfield, the protagonist of the first Life is Strange title. Players will flip between different realities to save Max’s friend. After the presentation, an extended look at gameplay was given—the game launches on October 29.

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle

A new trailer for Indiana Jones and the Great Circle was shown, but there is still no release date for the game.

Gears of War: E-Day

The sixth installment of Microsoft’s franchise was announced. No release date for the title was given.
