Earlier in the week, Tom Henderson released a video detailing many leaks and rumors surrounding GTA 6. Although Henderson has acknowledged that he is not known for GTA revelations, his accurate leaks about Battlefield 2042 and this year’s Call of Duty could lend him some credentials.
In the video, he reported that GTA 6 would be structured in a modern setting in order to accommodate GTA Online. GTA Online has been a trending mode since its release; incorporating it would give the developers more space to provide additional DLCs (downloadable content). Moreover, Henderson claimed that the remaster of Vice City would return to GTA 6 in some capacity, and the map, although originally rather small, would be “an evolving map” that expands throughout DLCs.
Henderson also reports that there will be multiple playable characters like GTA 5. And reportedly, one of them is a bright, responsible female hacker that would perfectly fit the modern setting in GTA 6.
As for the release date, Henderson believes the game will come out in 2024, or even later, partially because Rockstar is currently focusing on employee well-being. Economically, GTA 6 is a gen console and PC exclusive game that requires a riper market, plus GTA 5 is still a wild profit-making machine. Rockstar has no reason to rush.
These major assumptions by Henderson were further corroborated by the video game journalist Jason Schreier. After people asked if Henderson’s video about GTA 6 is true, Schreier sent out a tweet. “Idk why everyone thinks that I said GTA VI was coming in 2023. Everything Tom Henderson has said about the game matches up with what I’ve heard,” Schreier wrote.
Other smaller details, such as cryptocurrency and wingsuits, are reported via Henderson’s Twitter account. You can check it out here.
