With the hype garnering online for the upcoming Star Wars: Outlaws from Massive Entertainment, fans are curious about the prospective release window for the adventure game. Last month, Disney Parks mistakenly posted a release date for the game on a blog post before promptly being fixed later that day.
The post garnered suspicions earlier this year for the game to be released toward the end of this year, with Ubisoft confirming these rumors with the recent release of their 2024-25 fiscal report.
Though there is no exact date within the report, the company has the full intention of releasing the title before the year’s end with the upcoming Assassin’s Creed Codename Red, which has been highly anticipated by fans of the franchise to likely be released before the summer of next year. In May, the company plans on releasing more information regarding the two games alongside their upcoming mobile games based on the franchises The Division and Rainbow Six, which may be released within the next two years.
The new report on their earnings also revealed that the company had increased its earnings from 2021-22 years with the results of the past nine months being higher than their estimates from 2022, following the successes of Assassin’s Creed Mirage and Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, which is based on James Cameron’s sci-fi film franchise’s world of the same name.
Within the last month, more information regarding the setting for the new Star Wars game has come out, confirming the time era within the main film franchise where the game is supposed to take place. It has been confirmed that it takes place between The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, meaning that the Galactic Empire may be taking a major role in the game full of scoundrels and hooligans.
The game will be released on PC, PlayStation 5, and the Xbox Series X/S with an open-world map.
