One of the best-selling sports video game franchises ever, NBA2K is returning for a 23rd edition this fall. All cover athletes for all three editions of NBA2K23 have been announced – and fans will be excited to see a familiar face.

The WNBA cover features legends who are hailed as some of the best WNBA players of all time. Phoenix Mercury star Diana Taurasi and Seattle Storm star Sue Bird headline this version. This marks the second year in a row that a WNBA player was featured own the 2K cover, with Candace Parker gracing the cover in 2021. Taurasi has played 18 seasons in the WNBA, has won three WNBA Championships and is considered one of the best players of all time. Bird has played nearly 20 years in the WNBA, playing more games than any other player in history, earning four WNBA champions and is currently the all-time leader in assists. Bird is set to retire after this season.

Bird recently squared off against NBA star Draymond Green in a Twitter war.

The 26-year-old recently signed a supermax extension with the Phoenix Suns worth $214 million as well as a six-year deal with Nike.
