At New York Comic Con, a brand new trailer was premiered for the upcoming DC animated series Creature Commandos. The new trailer introduces the series’ colorful cast of characters and offers a sneak peak into their adventures.

Creature Commandos follows a military task force made up of super humans and monsters that has been assigned to a risky mission too dangerous for human soldiers. The characters in this highly anticipated series include The Bride, G.I. Robot, Doctor Phosphorus, Nina Mazursky and The Weasel. The only human in the task force is their commander, Rick Flagg Sr.

Although the trailer does not confirm the exact details of their mission, it does a great service to the audience by demonstrating the intense action and moderate gore that fans can expect to see throughout the series.

Creature Commandos comes from the mind of none other than James Gunn, the current co-CEO of DC Studios and director of beloved hit superhero films such as the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise and The Suicide Squad. The show’s cast is nothing short of impressive either and features the talent of Steve Agee, Maria Bakalova, Anya Chalotra, Zoe Chao, Frank Grillo, Indira Varma, Alan Tudyk, Sean Gunn and David Harbour.

In addition to the release of the new trailer, New York Comic Con also hosted a panel for fans to hear more about Creature Commandos directly from Gunn and the voice cast. During this, the cast expressed their excitement for the series release and revealed that they too have been charmed by the characters they portray in the animated show. It is apparent from the trailer that Creature Commandos will contain a great deal of action and humor, but Gunn also hinted that there will be some deeply emotional moments as well.

Those following the DC Universe should know that Creature Commandos will commence the DCU’s Chapter One: Gods and Monsters and that the series will contain references to Peacemaker and The Suicide Squad.

The first season of Creature Commandos will contain seven episodes and air on Max. The first episode will be available on Max on December 5, 2024 with new episodes to be released weekly.
