Civilization VII‘s devs have been hard at work exterminating bugs in the codes after launch on Feb. 11. Thankfully, the game has been fumigated. Bugs set players back in Advanced Access, where city-states disappeared during transitions and naval units bugged into the nether. While the developers played Undersea Explorer to recover the naval units, players reported bugs and offered suggestions. The team of developers took them into account and even thanked their player base for it.

Developer Firaxis said, “We are reading and collecting all of your feedback and will continue to do so as we roll out improvements going forward.” The devs said to stay tuned as they add more and fix the problems.

The game’s messy launch did not please the player base, but the devs redeemed themselves with the patches. But the rain has to fall from the skies, as do debates over games in the gamerdom. Fans questioned if this installation in their franchise was the worst or not. Let us be real here: bugs equal problems equals less popularity – unless it’s something you can use to your advantage, like running through areas transfigured into a cat with killing energies on you in Baldur’s Gate 3

Fans lauded Civilization 5 and 6 at launch. In comparison, it remains to be seen that Civ 7 is indeed reaching those markers. The fans hold onto hope. A fan on Reddit describes Civ 7 by saying, “The bones of an amazing game are there.”

Civ 7 isn’t stopping there with its plans, though. Fans rave about the possibility of an Atomic Age, which was leaked with some serious data mining. The developers haven’t embraced the Cold War Era, but this has promise. Imagine the possibilities.
