Epic Games announced that starting at 2pm EST. on February 11, the Epic Games Twitch channel will be playing a continuous stream of game debuts, gameplay reveals and developer Q&As until February 25. At 11am EST. on February 11, Epic will also be hosting their Spring Showcase Sale.
Epic Games has already announced that the sale will have deals for recent games like Cyberpunk 2077 and Assassin’s Creed Valhalla.
While Epic hasn’t leaked what games will see reveals or new details during the showcase, in a statement to PC Gamer, an Epic spokesperson said, “We have more exclusives coming in the next two years than we have published to date,” hinting that some of those games may be revealed next week.
Some announced exclusives likely to be featured in the Spring Showcase are The Wolf Among Us 2, Darkest Dungeon 2, Kena: Bridge of Spirits, and one yet-unannounced title from Remedy Games.
Epic Games General Manager Steve Allison told GameDaily.biz that, “Exclusives have been critical in gaining momentum in the presence of a competitor that began 2019 with more than 90% market share,” in reference to Valve’s storefront Steam which still holds a dominating market share. Allison told GameDaily that exclusives account for 90% of all of Epic’s new releases on the storefront, and that they are the main source of revenue for the company.
Epic’s Spring Showcase comes one week after the Steam Games Festival which boasted more than 500 game demos and similar game announcements and showcases before their own Lunar New Year sale begins on February 11 as well.
