The world got its first look at the 2026 live-action Street Fighter movie. Set for exclusive theatrical release on October 16, the film is being produced by Legendary Entertainment and distributed by Paramount. The franchise’s original creator, Capcom, is helmed as co-producer, and the movie will be written by Dalan Musson and directed by Kitao Sakurai.

The teaser trailer was presented at The Game Awards and then promptly released online. Full of ’90s charm, the trailer is a flurry of flashy glimpses of the Street Fighter characters doing what they do best – whoop some ass. The teaser was set to Joey Valence & Brae’s “Punk Tactics,” and it ended with a screen proclaiming “You Win.”

The film’s official logline reads:

“Set in 1993, estranged Street Fighters Ryu (Andrew Koji) and Ken Masters (Noah Centineo) are thrown back into combat when the mysterious Chun-Li (Callina Liang) recruits them for the next World Warrior Tournament: a brutal clash of fists, fate and fury. But behind this battle royale lies a deadly conspiracy that forces them to face off against each other and the demons of their past. And if they don’t, it’s GAME OVER!”

True fans will recognize 1993 as the year Street Fighter II debuted in arcades.

Alongside the trailer, Paramount Pictures also released 17 character posters for the movie. They feature:

  • Andrew Koji as Ryu
  • Noah Centineo as Ken Masters
  • Callina Liang as Chun-Li
  • Joe “Roman Reigns” Anoa’i as Akuma
  • David Dastmalchian as M. Bison
  • Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson as Balrog
  • Jason Momoa as Blanka
  • Olivier Richters as Zangief
  • Vidyut Jammwal as Dhalsim
  • Mel Jarnson as Cammy
  • Hirooki Goto as E. Honda
  • Cody Rhodes as Guile
  • Orville Peck as Vega
  • Eric André as Don Sauvage
  • Alexander Volkanovski as Joe
  • Rayna Vallandingham as Juli
  • Andrew Shulz as Dan Hibiki

With a cast featuring actors, martial artists, wrestlers, bodybuilders, country artists and rappers from around the world, the movie is shaping up to be a wild ride that encapsulates the spirit of the original games.

Street Fighter will be the first film released under Paramount and Legendary’s new partnership.
