‘Pokemon GO: Gen 2’ Release Review: Tips & Tricks
The game that caused car accidents nationwide is now back with a vengeance: Pokemon GO‘s second generation Pokemon have finally come. That’s pretty much it and I don’t necessarily need to expand upon this, but I’ve got a few tips, tricks, and overall news I’d be willing to share.
New eeveelutions include Espeon and Umbreon, yet getting these new Eevees are tough no matter how many candies you have. However, just as naming Eevee Rainer, Sparky, and Pyro would have guaranteed an evolution to Vaporeon, Jolteon, and Flareon respectively, the same works for the newest edition. For Espeon, name your Eevee Sakura before evolving it, while naming your Eevee Tamao will make everything a bit darker and edgier. It doesn’t even matter what time of day you evolve them, they will grow into their name, no matter how much that doesn’t make sense.
The new commonly appearing Pokemon include Ledyba, Sentret, Hoppip, and Murkrow. There are many others, but these are your newest companions that want to stick around as much as those garbage pieces of ass known as Rattata and Pidgey. Other more common Pokemon include Hoothoot, Swinub, Snubbull, Wooper, and a Gen 2 starter as soon as it is announced in your game that they will appear. Unlike how the game normally starts up, however, is that you don’t get to decide on a Pokemon, they will choose you. Just roll with it.
Marill, Natu, Misdreavus, Wobbuffett; I could go on all day. Let’s move on to the egg hatches, since generation 2 was the initial introduction of eggs, there are many different Pokechildren to obtain, rarer without egg hatching than with. 2K eggs contain the starters, Igglybuff, Togepi, Cleffa and Pichu, 5K eggs contain Magby, Elekid, and Smoochum, and 10K eggs include Skarmory and Larvitar, the best Pokemon in the entire franchise. Here is a more detailed analysis of egg hatching.
Other than these new additions, the inclusion of character customization lets you do PG changes to the look of your character, as long as you look like the same generic guy with a different getup. The end result of the update, as usual, is the constant errors due to increased activities. If you can help it, wait a while before you play in order to avoid a world of pain. The world of Pokemon on the go has been expanded, get back out there and enjoy pretending that these magical creatures actually exist, I know I will.
