If you were having problems with Cyberpunk 2077, CD Projekt Red announced that they would be offering refunds for players dissatisfied with the Xbox One and PS4 versions of the game. While a few people were able to get their refunds on the PlayStation Store, a large majority of people weren’t so lucky.

A lot of the reasoning behind this has to do with PlayStation’s refund policy. Unlike Xbox and Steam that offer refunds two weeks after purchase (and have only played around 2 hours), once the game begins downloading on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, you’re no longer valid to receive a refund for your purchase.

A week after the game was released, Sony has removed Cyberpunk 2077 from the PlayStation Store. News broke on Thursday when the official PlayStation Support Twitter account announced that the game would no longer be selling the game on PSN and is offering refunds to dissatisfied customers.

CD Projekt Red also posted a note on their investor website discussing Sony removing Cyberpunk that reads as follows:

“The decision [to disclose Sony’s decision] was undertaken following our discussion with SIE [Sony Interactive Entertainment] regarding a full refund for all gamers who had purchased Cyberpunk 2077 via PlayStation Store and want a refund at this time. All copies of the game previously purchased digitally on PlayStation Store remain available for use by their respective buyers. Gamers can still buy physical versions of the game in retail and mail-order stores. All copies, whether digital or physical, will continue to receive support and updates from the Company.”

Sony and CD Projekt Red have not announced a date when Cyberpunk 2077 will return to the storefront, though CDPR has said that they vowed to bring Cyberpunk 2077 back to PSN “as soon as possible.” Until then, if you wish to purchase Cyberpunk 2077 on PlayStation, you’ll have to purchase the physical copy to do so.
