Following an announcement from CD Projekt Red that their internal servers had been breached by a hacker, someone alleging possession of the stolen code has started an auction on a Russian hacker forum to it.

According to Eurogamer and vx underground, a new auction on the website Exploit has opened, starting at $1 million, to sell off stolen source code from Cyberpunk 2077, The Witcher 3 and Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales.

According to the auction, the hacker also has access to internal documents from CD Projekt Red.

Nobody has been able to guarantee the authenticity of the seller’s files. Beyond the auction’s $1 million opening price, the Exploit seller has a buy-out price of $7 million listed as well. Last Tuesday, a post on the forum 4chan apparently hosted a download link for the source code to CD Projekt Red’s game Gwent. The post has not been verified for authenticity.

Even with new potential data leaks, CD Projekt Red has not changed their original stance. “We will not give in to the demands nor negotiate with the actor, being aware that this may eventually lead to the release of the compromised data,” read the statement initially posted to Twitter.
