While The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD just launched, the Amibo that was set to release at the launch date will be delayed until August, as confirmed by Nintendo.

“The Zelda & Loftwing amiibo figure is currently impacted by unforeseen shipping delays,” a spokesperson for Nintendo told IGN. “As a result, only a small portion of the Zelda & Loftwing will be available on its scheduled July 16 launch date. Additional shipments are delayed until August. We will ship additional amiibo to retailers as soon as they arrive.”

In case you don’t know, Skyward Sword HD’s amibo doesn’t only serve real-life aesthetics; instead, those figures also offer in-game advantages. They come with special in-game features that allow you to teleport between the Surface and Skyloft without the medium of bid statues. There was some controversy surrounding this amiibo because such convenience was priced for 25$ in real life instead of in-game currency.

However, this feature has never been essential at all. The figures only increase convenience rather than actual stats. What’s more, the bird statues are sufficient enough that you’re never too far from one. Having the figure is indeed a useful time-saver, but the lack of it is not an issue at all.

Therefore, for those waiting for the amibo figure, your overall gameplay experience will not be impacted without the portable bird statue.

Meanwhile, Nintendo hasn’t announced any reason behind the delay of the figures.
