CD Projekt Red Denies Developer Details About ‘Cyberpunk 2077’s Development

CD Projekt Red’s latest game, Cyberpunk 2077, was released in December with an inexcusable number of bugs, glitches and frame-rate issues on consoles and is now facing legal actions for saying that the game ran well on consoles. Additionally, Cyberpunk’s development team was forced to crunch to “finish” the game before release. But, CD Projekt Red has recently denied some claims about the game’s development.

The reports came from a commenter from GameFAQs who claimed to be an employee at CD Projekt Red discussing some behind the scenes info about what’s going on at CDPR at the time of writing and various changes and cuts made to Cyberpunk 2077. Included in the post are claims that CDPR is planning a “No Man’s Sky-like reboot” to the game in June, part of the game’s code on consoles is being chucked away, developers and executives are being let go, Johnny Silverhand’s character being changed throughout development and much more.

When responding to these claims on the official CDPR forums, an employee from the company responded by saying, “We usually do not comment on rumors, but this is simply not true.”

This message was later tweeted out on the official Cyberpunk 2077 Twitter account, as seen below:

Cyberpunk 2077 is available on PS4, Xbox One, PC and Google Stadia.
