Harry Potter Store Opens New Sections For VR Games

Starting July 15, the Harry Potter store in New York City opened two new sections dedicated to adventures in virtual reality. They are Harry Potter: Chaos at Hogwarts and Harry Potter: Wizards Take Flight.

Harry Potter: Chaos at Hogwarts is set in the familiar King’s Cross station, the passage from the muggle world to the magic land. You’ll be suiting up in this iconic scene replete with nostalgia. As reported by Cnet, the game begins with running through Platform 9 3/4 with your cart, where you will then find the house-elf Dobby asking for assistance on the other side. He accidentally let out magical creatures from his suitcase (familiar plot from the Fantastic Beasts films), and now needs you to help him capture them. Your mission is to wander through Hogwarts and bring those beasts back.

Harry Potter: Wizards Take Flight has a ticket office inspired by the Quidditch locker room. There, you’ll put on your hand trackers and then be ushered into the VR section. There will be brooms and headsets waiting for you to start your journey. The VR game starts with a little broom lesson; you can explore famous scenes in Hogwarts, including Quidditch pitch, Astronomy tower and Womping Willow. After that little intro, the plot then unfolds into a secret delivery mission: you’ll help Hagrid carry a special package to Hogwarts. What’s even more interesting is that the story in Wizards Take Flight will intersect with the mission in Chaos at Hogwarts.

To experience the 10-15 minute VR games, participants must be over the age of 10 and above 48 inches (~1.2m) tall. And if you’re under 13, you must be accompanied by an adult with their own ticket.

Both trips cost 34 dollars. You can purchase tickets here.
