Bellring Games’ highly anticipated dark fantasy extraction RPG, Mistfall Hunter, officially launched today, arriving with a blend of genres that developer and press alike have pitched as Souls-inspired combat crossed with the extraction-shooter tension of Arc Raiders.

The game went live July 29 at 6 p.m. PT / 9 p.m. ET simultaneously on PC via Steam, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, with an expected release on Game Pass for PC and Xbox as well. Players were unable to preload the title ahead of launch; downloads only began once servers came online.

The core experience centers on a familiar yet distinct loop for fans of the extraction genre: players spawn on a map, battle enemies, scavenge loot, and attempt to make it back to base camp for extraction — all while contending with other players hunting them down along the way. The game supports both solo play and squad-based co-op, with multiple character classes that can be built by combining weapons, talents, and equipment.

Early hands-on impressions from outlets that previewed the game ahead of launch described the Souls-inspired melee combat as a strong fit for the extraction format, calling the flow of matches satisfying and well-paced.

Bellring Games used the official launch to roll out a substantial content update beyond what was available in prior testing periods. Additions include a new Polearm & Shield weapon style for the Withered Knight class, Holy Weapons capable of dramatically altering character skills, an entirely new map, the game’s first seasonal reward track, improvements to the ranked competitive system, and a wide range of balance changes drawn from community feedback gathered during earlier test phases.

On the infrastructure side, Bellring Games launched with regional servers across the United States, Germany, Brazil, Singapore, and China, supported by full cross-platform matchmaking across all available platforms — meaning PC, PlayStation, and Xbox players can compete and cooperate from day one.

Pricing is set at $24.99 for the Standard Edition and $39.99 for the Deluxe Edition, with a 10% launch discount available on both for roughly the first two weeks post-release. Players who buy the Standard Edition also have the option to upgrade to the Deluxe Edition at a later date.

Mistfall Hunter has been on the radar of genre fans since its initial reveal, when its blend of Soulslike combat and PvPvE extraction gameplay first drew comparisons to a mashup of Elden Ring and Arc Raiders — a combination that, based on early impressions, the finished game appears to deliver on.
