Miles Morales won’t be the only Spider-Man making his debut on PS5. The 2018 smash hit Spider-Man on PS4 will be receiving a remaster for PS5. However, those of you who were hoping to see a physical disc version of the game will be disappointed to learn that it won’t be getting a physical release. When fans asked if a physical copy of the upcoming Spider-Man would be released, Insomniac Games responded on Twitter saying that there are no plans for a release on disk. Insomniac also confirmed on Twitter that you won’t be able to transfer your progress from PS4 to PS5.

Spider-Man on PS5 isn’t confirmed to not just be a simple remaster, according to Insomniac’s community director James Stevenson in a blog post on PlayStation. “You’ll see better-looking characters with improved skin, eyes, hair and facial animation (including our new, next-generation Peter Parker). Making full use of the PS5, the remaster will support 3D audio and the DualSense’s haptic feedback, and will feature ray-traced reflections, improved lighting, ambient shadows, and more pedestrians and vehicles in the distance. Along with the same optional performance mode offered on Spider-Man: Miles Morales, allowing you to play the game at a targeted 60fps frame rate.”

Spider-Man: Miles Morales and Spider-Man Remastered will be released on November 12 as a launch title game. You’ll be able to purchase both via the Ultimate Edition of Spider-Man Miles Morales.
