Elden Ring fans can expect its first and newest spinoff on May 30. While you won’t be a part of Lunar Princess Ranni’s questlines again – at least, I hope that’s not the case – you can return to the world of The Lands Between.

Players choose a roguelike character with limited customization ability. But you have a questline that covers three days in-game. Plus, the player can go with friends. This game is all about strategy, but it gives you a small game to play through. The game feels or appears like a reused or unused asset collection. Mind you, this is kind of what Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask is. You can’t convince me otherwise because most characters previously appeared in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Each session resets your character’s levels and gives you loot.

The Limgrave or Limfield map shrinks each night during play. Players can play co-op or multiplayer to synchronize and clear the map. The gameplay is designed for three players, leaving your synchronization skills needing a brush-up if you like soloing nonstop.

The developers did not make this game as a DLC or a secondary game in the series. Instead, it’s a spinoff. As such, the game is not free. Currently, players can pre-order.

The game underwent a network test in February and is prepped for release. Find Elden Ring: Nightreign on PS5, PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. Order yours today!

The publisher receives a commission for links on this post.
