The new Minecraft: Chase The Skies update is available in both Minecraft: Java Edition and Minecraft: Bedrock Edition.
New Features
The latest update, released on June 17, introduces exciting new adventures, complete with a flying mount that allows players to take to the skies for building and exploration. With vibrant new terrain and breathtaking visuals, Chase The Skies features a bright, warm color palette that’s easy on the eyes and creates an uplifting, cheerful atmosphere.
As seen in the trailer’s thumbnail, a new mobile entity or mob, has been added through the update. The Happy Ghast can be tamed and used to float around your island. Players can tame this mob by building a ghast after harvesting dried ghast blocks from the Nether.
Chase The Skies is extremely multiplayer-friendly, equipped with a player locator bar that tracks your friends using colored dots and arrows to indicate whether they’re up in the sky or down on the ground.
To add to the fun, Minecraft has created the “ultimate travel guide,” “From tips on where to stay, to what to pack – this guide has everything to make your vacation in Minecraft an unforgettable one!”
As of June 20, Minecraft’s official X account announced two new community challenges.
Fan Response
Fans expressed their various opinions on the Chase The Skies update, some praising the visuals, while others state, “The visual changes are headache inducing. Looks cute for five minutes while you “ooh and ahh” at how your base looks now. Then you actually start playing the game. I genuinely started developing a headache 10 minutes into playing and had to stop,” said a user on the r/minecraft subreddit.
On the other hand, several players are also praising the new gameplay. YouTube users commented, “Vibrant Visuals is single-handedly getting me back into Minecraft,” and “The Vibrant Visuals feature has perfectly added the wonderful textures and shading that the Minecraft world always deserves. I started playing Minecraft when Trails And Tales was added, and the best update is definitely Chase The Skies.”
