Embark Studios has released update 1.11.0 for their smash-hit Arc Raiders, along with patch notes explaining all the new additions. These notes are available on the official Arc Raiders website and on Steam.

The update brings the Abyss cosmetic set alongside some tweaks made to the Trigger ‘Nade and the Kettle to balance gameplay.

For the Kettle, the patch notes stated that the developers have “reduced fire rate from 600 to 450. The previous fire rate was only realistically reachable by players using macros, which creates an unfair dynamic that favours using 3rd party software.”

For the Trigger ‘Nade, the patch notes read:

“Trigger ‘Nade currently dominates PVP encounters, and players favour picking it over all our other grenades. This nerf aims to make it less usable as a ‘trigger-in-air’ grenade, whilst keeping its usefulness as a sticky bomb. Damage falloff has been rebalanced to concentrate the damage closer to the center of the explosion and deal less damage further away. The delay between triggering the grenade and it detonating has been increased from 0.7s to 1.5s, giving players more time to react, and making it harder to time the detonation in the air.”

Furthermore, update 1.11.0 fixes a key card exploit that previously allowed players to keep room keys after using them. Stella Montis Night Raid has also had the lighting lowered in some areas, making flashlights and listening more relevant.

Another announcement made in the patch notes is that Arc Raiders has sold 12 million copies. Originally, a gift was prepared for the 10 million player mark, but that milestone got completely blown out of the water during the holiday season. Everyone who has hopped on the game since its launch until January 13, 11:59 p.m. CET, January 13, 3:00 p.m. PST, or January 13, 6:00 p.m. EST, can receive the Gilded Pickaxe Raider Tool.

Arc Raiders Update 1.11.0 can be downloaded by restarting your client.
