Death Row Games & New Regency Team Up To Bring Films To Life In ‘Fortnite’

First came concerts and movie premiers, and now films from the library of New Regency will be joining Fortnite in collaboration with Death Row Games.

Death Row Games has announced that they will be working with New Regency to bring the films that are within their library into the world of Fortnite via the Unreal Editor for Fortnite (UEFN). The Good Game Champ division of Death Row Games is taking the reins for this project. 

The first film from the New Regency library to come to Fortnite is the 2011 science fiction action film, In Time, starring Justin Timberlake, Amanda Seyfried, Olivia Wilde and Cillian Murphy. Taking place “in a dystopian society where time serves as currency, the film delves into a world of stark inequalities, where survival hinges on every second. Its gripping narrative and themes of resistance provide a wealth of rich storytelling potential.”

The official Good Game Champ Instagram account explains how this collaboration of In Time will look in Fortnite as “the reimagined duos battle royale challenges players to outlast opponents while managing a ticking clock that replaces the traditional health bar.” From the sound of it, this collaboration will make for a fun and immersive experience for players as they’ll essentially be playing within the world of In Time. 

The masters behind this collaboration are Cordell Broadus (CEO of Death Row Games and Good Game Champ and Snoop Dogg’s son) and Yariv Milchan (CEO of New Regency). Each of them have already expressed their excitement for this never-before-seen marriage of film and gaming. 

“This is just the beginning of a long and exciting journey for Death Row Games,” Broadus said. “We’re thrilled to collaborate with exceptional partners like Regency as we push boundaries and redefine the future of entertainment.” He also made a point of mentioning that New Regency “has produced some of my favorite films,” and that working with Milchan and his team “has been seamless. They understand that UEFN is at the heart of the creator economy. When we built the Tee Grizzley map, we wanted to depict spaces that resonate emotionally with our culture. This partnership allows us to bring that same authenticity to the Fortnite world and ensure cultural representation within IP integration.”

Milchan added, “The launch of In Time marks the start of a groundbreaking journey into immersive storytelling. We have long admired Snoop’s remarkable and varied body of work, his ongoing creative journey, and have a deep respect for what he and Cordell [Broadus] are building at Death Row.”
