‘Diablo IV’ Fans Are ‘Having Fun’ With Bugs From The New Spiritborn Class

With the release of Diablo IV‘s new Vessel of Hatred DLC on Oct. 8, the new Spiritborn class was introduced to the game and has been making waves in the community since.

Players have discovered significant bugs within the DLC, allowing the Spiritborn class to damage other players extremely. There is also an issue with animation frames breaking when players cast Evade. Despite these bugs being quite noticeable during gameplay, Diablo‘s general manager, Rod Fergusson, hesitates to repair them immediately.

Fergusson seemed to be taking note of what players were saying about these bugs on X as just the other day; he posted a poll on his X account in which he asked fans if the developers of the game should “fix Spiritborn so that it’s closer in balance to the other classes OR should we leave it as it is because you’re having fun?” Perhaps surprisingly, the majority(63%) of players voted to “leave it” as is.

Alongside his X poll, Fergusson also made a post to clarify what he meant regarding the potential “fix” to the Spiritborn class. “Interesting, some people don’t recognize the difference between ‘fix’ and ‘nerf,'” he wrote. “I’m not saying we’re doing anything; I’m just saying that a class that’s been out for 3 weeks versus 16 months is going to have some issues that need to be addressed.” Ultimately, some players misunderstood Fergusson’s thoughts as the general manager was more concerned with patching the game for bugs rather than weakening the Spiritborn class altogether.

The day following this series of statements, Fergusson reposted a post from the user @Rob_2628 on his X account regarding the “New #DiabloIV Patch Notes for next Tuesday.” The post briefly mentions the most important patches and promises “many more bug fixes.” The significant fixes the post highlights are: “Gem Cap increase, Beast Ice spawn fixed, Undercity Buffed,” and, most importantly, “NO Spiritborn NERFS.”

Time will tell how the Spiritborn class will evolve as new patches and features are introduced to Diablo IV, but at least for now, fans can continue to enjoy the new class in its earliest stage of development.
