Pokemon Go took the world by storm a few summers ago, and is still immensely popular. The game’s annual gathering of players, Pokemon Go Fest, was in doubt for 2020 given the coronavirus pandemic. On Wednesday, it was announced that the event will go on as scheduled.

The 2020 edition of Pokemon Go Fest is slated to take place on July 25 and 26 and unlike previous years where tickets for the event are limited, this year’s event, Niantic says that it is “taking steps to make tickets available to as many Trainers as possible.”

Niantic noted that this year’s event will provide opportunities for players unlike ever before and they teased the possibility of “bonuses, Pokémon encounters, and Special Research [as well as] exciting ways to connect with other Trainers and experience other fun surprises throughout the entire summer.”

More details regarding Pokemon Go Fest 2020 are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
