With now more than 20 million pirates on the open seas, Microsoft and Rare’s Sea of Thieves is celebrating their third anniversary with several in-game and physical goodies for the many plunderers who have made the ocean their domain of choice.

“From everyone on the Rare team, we’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has come along with us so far on the Sea of Thieves journey. 2021 is shaping up to be our biggest year yet, so keep your eyes peeled for what we’ve got coming over the horizon,” said Sam Foxall in a company blog post.

All players who logged into Sea of Thieves until March 25 earned the Prosperous Captain’s Sails for free. Then, Xbox Game Pass members could snag a special jumping emote. Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members, however, can claim the Ocean Crawlers bundle of in-game goodies until June 18.

In the same update at the three-year anniversary, the team at Rare is also unveiling the newest in-game Vault Raiders event where until April 15, players can banner up with the Gold Hoarders to recover limited-time loot and a Gold Hoarders-themed weapon set.

The Rare merchandise store is also adding a new collection of limited-time apparel. One new shirt comes with a silver collectible coin in honor of the game’s third anniversary. Or, if comics are more your style, a free sample of the new Sea of Thieves graphic novel series is available starting in March.
