Are you ready, football kids? Everyone’s favorite undersea sponge and his friends are coming to the world of Madden in an update that now features your favorite football teams dressing up as your favorite SpongeBob characters. The update also features a new play field inspired by the show, called SpongeBob Reef-Top, that is only available in Madden 2021‘s “The Yard” Mode. The new course will also feature several game-changing rules that will only be available in Reef-Top, such as the ability to jump and throw exaggeratedly, as well as slow-motion when running. The SpongeBob X Madden crossover comes ahead of the NFL Playoff that will take place on Nickelodeon on June 10, 2021, at 4:40 PM ET, where the Chicago Bears will play against the New Orleans Saints.

Madden 2021 is now available on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, with a release on Google Stadia release arriving sometime in 2021.

The most recent SpongeBob game, Battle for Bikini Bottom: Rehydrated, is available for PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
