Delta Force has been dominating the Steam charts recently, passing games like Call of Duty and Battlefield. The free-to-play game peaked at 138,000 concurrent players, prompting people to wonder: Why is this TiMi Studio game taking over the genre?

Delta Force is a free-to-play tactical shooter featuring Warfare, a large-scale, objective-based mode similar to Battlefield. Jake Tucker wrote in PC Gamer, “Delta Force’s large-scale combat reminds me of Battlefield‘s very best,” praising its tight gunplay and balanced vehicles over rivals like Arena Breakout Infinite. You can also do Hazard Operations extraction gameplay. Delta Force has come a long way since its launch in betas through 2025, hitting its peak in 2026 as a live-service title.

The Morphosis update introduces destructible map changes. Fiery Owl Hunt mode adds asymmetrical boss fights, as well as a wide variety of options for customizing weapons, including calibrable barrel attachments and optical attachments, that reward creative players who enjoy tinkering. Morphosis’s time-to-kill is faster than Arena Breakout Infinite’s, but vehicle balance keeps it from being as unbalanced as tank spam found in Battlefield.

Shattering records in 2025, hitting new peaks before reclaiming the top Steam ranks in February 2026, Delta Force is not new to the spotlight. Streamers like xQc, summit1g, Nadeshot and shroud all attracted large audiences while playing the game during streamer week events, helping sustain 100,000 players. This live-service content strays from the typical annual releases, helping maintain the game’s hype and avoiding the shooter fatigue familiar to many shooters.

Delta Force blends nostalgia with innovation and is trending towards dominance in 2026, as long as the game continues to update regularly and remains appealing to players. Check it out on Steam for yourself.
