UFO 50, previously only available on Windows PC, has been added to the Nintendo Switch eShop.

About The Game

UFO 50 is an action-packed video game collection featuring 50 games, both single-player and multiplayer, including platformers, shooter games, puzzles, roguelites and role-playing adventures. The game was created by the independent developers, Mossmouth, and was released in September 2024.

The retro design drew inspiration from 80s arcade games. “Every game shares a unique 32-color palette, and we made great efforts to make them look and sound like actual 8-bit titles from the 80s,” the official UFO 50 website states.

The Greater Impact Of Gaming

Under the r/ufo50 subreddit, fans found solace in the game, opening up about how it helped them through tough periods. One user commented, “I wanted to make a bittersweet appreciation post about this game. I have just hit one year of battling severe ME/CFS, which is an extremely debilitating neurological/immune system disease,” they said. “This game is so special to me because it is simple enough for my brain to handle with this disability.”

Other Redditors responded with supportive words along with their own stories, “As a fellow chronically ill/disabled player, this game has also given me so much joy in some pretty sad housebound times,” another user added, along with, “UFO 50 is something special. A little light to go with the darkness. What an amazing work of art game. Just stellar.”

According to users, UFO 50 is a great choice when life feels overwhelming, offering a casual experience instead of the frustration that comes with more demanding titles. “This game allows me to feel like I’m having a fresh, meaningful game experience while my neurological disease makes most games extremely painful to play,” the original poster added.

Where To Download

UFO 50 is available for $24.99 on both the Nintendo Switch eShop and Steam.
