'Rainbow Six: Quarantine'

In a recent quarterly earnings report with its investors, Ubisoft announced that Far Cry 6 has been delayed. Originally slated to come out on February 21, 2021, Ubisoft has revealed that the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic was the cause of Far Cry 6‘s delay. For now, the game will release sometime within the fiscal year 2021-22. For Ubisoft, that year will begin after March 2021, meaning that Far Cry 6 will release sometime between April 2021 and March 2022. The official Far Cry Twitter account released this statement.

Far Cry 6 is the next installment of Ubisoft’s FPS open-world franchise. The game will star Giancarlo Esposito (Breaking Bad, The Mandalorian) as antagonist “El Presidente” of the fictional Caribbean island of Yara. Players will play as Dani Rojas, a guerrilla fighter on Yara who attempts to take the nation back from El Presidente. Joining Esposito will be Anthony Gonzalez (Coco, The Last Ship) as his son, Deigo, who is being forced to follow in his father’s footsteps.

But, Far Cry 6 was not the only game to have been delayed. Rainbow Six: Quarantine, a spin-off of the Rainbow Six franchise, was also delayed into the 2021-22 fiscal year. Quarantine was originally announced last year but never received a proper release date. The game will be a three-player co-op shooter and features characters from Rainbow Six: Siege.
