Cross-saving is finally available in No Man’s Sky alongside the No Man’s Sky PlayStation 5 Pro support upgrade.

Last week, it was announced that No Man’s Sky is now available for cross-saving. Cross-save support, or cloud save, allows players to maintain a particular save file across several gaming platforms. This means that with cross-save now supported for No Man’s Sky, players can pick up on their PC where they left off on their Nintendo Switch. Cross-saving has been taking the gaming world by storm over the past few years, as many large titles can now support cross-saves. It took No Man’s Sky a little while to catch up, but hopefully, this means that the software is fine-tuned and should run smoothly.

Hello Games founder Sean Murray made a statement about this update on the PlayStation blog: “Starting from today, we are rolling out cross-save support on all platforms. This has been a huge undertaking and is one of the most requested features.”

This means that saved files can be accessed on PCs, PlayStation 5 and 4, Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PS VR and PS VR 2. Murray also commented that Hello Games took a while to deliver this feature to players because including cross-save is “a little bit like moving house; the longer people have lived there, the more complicated it is to move them!”

Considering that some players have save files dating back to eight years ago, when the game was released, Hello Games had to take a little extra care to ensure that those players would have an easy cross-save transition.

This game feature was released alongside the new PlayStation 5 Pro feature. This means big things for PS5 players of No Man’s Sky, as they will enjoy a higher-quality gaming experience. A recent X post from Murray shares a bulleted list of what PlayStation 5 Pro support players can expect to see with these new features. Players will experience “No Man’s Sky in 8K, PSSR support, Sharper Resolution, Higher Framerates, Improved Lighting, Ultra Quality Reflections, High Quality Ambient Occlusion, 4K at 60FPS, 8K at 30FPS,” and a “Huge Upgrade to PSVR2.”
