Microsoft’s latest update effectively kills off popular games and franchises like Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla, Star Wars Outlaws and many more Ubisoft Games.

After VGC originally reported this, Microsoft weighed in, saying their update had essentially nuked part of the Assassin’s Creed franchise and several other action adventure-based games. There were no plans to release fixes, which leaves fans in the dust unless you’re a Star Wars game player. Microsoft released temporary fixes for the game. While this only helps with the crashes and black screens, it doesn’t solve the bigger problem for others.

As big as the Assassin’s Creed franchise is, fans probably hoped they could play their titles without problems. Now, with no fix in sight and the warnings for manually updating, it appears like a little debugging looms on the horizon. Thankfully, the self-admission that we made a mistake has created an update hold on specific devices. You can still play it if you haven’t updated or manually done it.

Microsoft says they’re working on a fix, but until then, it’s a classic waiting game if you update. Valhalla waits and you’re trapped in the 4.37 light-year trip to Pandora.
