On the game hardware side of things, Nintendo took the top spot with the Switch as the best-selling system of August 2020. The success for last month also resulted in Nintendo breaking records as the Switch having the “highest August dollar sales” for a hardware platform in U.S. history. This milestone surpassed the August 2008 sales of the Nintendo Wii. In addition to these record-breaking sales, half of the games featured here are all on the Nintendo Switch.
