It has been 21 years since the original Baldur’s Gate was released for the PC. If you count the franchise’s last release in 2004, then Baldur’s Gate: Dark Alliance II is the last game released in the series, even though that game was an expansion to the second game. The Dungeons & Dragons series has been a commercial and cultural success for gamers, and now the series is getting hyped again for the newest game to be added.

Ladies and Gentle-gamers, please take the time to watch this five minute to Baldur’s Gate 3.

Cinematic trailers never usually reveal any gameplay footage, and it’s never advisable to post a visual trailer when nobody knows the plotline of the game. This trailer though, could literally act as a movie preview. The game is set up to be an RPG, which definitely is not the idea that someone could have gotten from the trailer.

There are a few interesting gameplay mechanisms that do not resemble how traditional games of D&D are played. For example, the in-game dialogue will always be in the past tense. Since this is the case, any time your character speaks to another one, the user will be reflecting, or discussing an action that has already happened. In real life games of D&D–much like in real life – players aren’t choosing to speak in the past-tense, mostly because it’s an incredibly difficult way of speaking.

Users on Twitter are equally as excited to play this, after watching that beautiful cinematic trailer.
