The Microsoft gaming brand Xbox took the time to fire off a potshot at Sony.  The June 11 Xbox Games Showcase looms close as the company looks to come out ahead after Sony’s recent PlayStation Showcase 2023 back on May 24.

“None of our first party games in the show are full CG trailers,” said Xbox marketing Vice President Aaron Greenberg to content creator ChitoGaming on Twitter. “Everything is either in-game footage, in-engine footage, or in-game footage with some cinematics. Each of our trailers will be labeled so it is hopefully clear for our fans.”

Sony’s PlayStation Showcase featured some examples of this, and Xbox seems to want to distance itself from this, at least for now.

After a lackluster outcome with Redfall, Xbox is looking to regain some public relation footing with what is coming this summer and beyond.

However, they are trying something different. This year, Xbox is going to deviate from its “out in 12 months” promise after it didn’t come true last year for the game Silksong.

Of course, this year many Xbox gamers have a lot to look forward to. Over the past several years, many studios have been placed under the Microsoft umbrella. Now, it is time for the players to see what is coming out after a long time of teasing. What better way to try and freshen up your reputation than to make it known that you are different from the competition?

Many anticipated titles will hopefully be revealed and get Xbox players back into the game. With a two-hit combo planned for a large showcase followed then by Starfield Direct, which is expected to display the new space adventure title from Bethesda.

Whether or not the alternate route Xbox took with social media works will be seen on June 11.

Until then, game on.
