MGM’s Tomb Raider reboot hit theaters last year, offering fans of the seminal gaming series a serviceable time. However, the Roar Uthaug-directed flick managed to do well for itself, grossing $275 million worldwide. That was enough for the studio to green-light a sequel, which will formerly begin production next year.

Ben Wheatley has signed on to direct the followup, and actress Alicia Vikander will reprise her role as the iconic archeologist, according to a report by Deadline. Wheatley has previously directed cult favorites like Free Fire and Kill List, and he’s also loaned his talents to High Rise and the Peter Capaldi run of Doctor Who. Additionally, Amy Jump will pen the script while Graham King will produce via his GK Films banner.

MGM’s Tomb Raider sequel is slated to release on March 19, 2021.
