‘Grounded 2’ Sets New Record With All-Time Peak Player Count

Grounded 2, the sequel to the survival action-adventure video game Grounded, was announced for early access on July 29 for Steam and Xbox Series X users.
The early access release quickly garnered attention, reaching a peak player count of 50,000 on Steam, breaking its previous record of 32,000 with the early access release of Grounded in 2021. Players shared positive feedback in Steam reviews, one user wrote, “So far amazing for its beta stage, can’t wait until the game is optimized a bit more as it is currently pretty buggy, laggy and crashes a lot. but otherwise, still a 10/10,” regardless of the games early development and bugs players are evidently still enjoying the early access release.
Along with the game, Obsidian Entertainment also released an early access edition of the Grounded 2 road map. The roadmap included all plans and updates for the game’s future, minus three, which were crossed out.
Social Media Response
On their official X account, @GroundedtheGame, they asked players their thoughts on Grounded 2 so far following its early access release.
Players flooded the comment section with snapshots and recordings of their favorite moments from the game. One user showed off their base-building skills with a video of their gameplay, “The gigantic base I built with my son! Your game is fantastic,” they commented. Another added, “Exploring with friends has been a blast. Can’t wait to play more and for future updates!”
Several users shared funny moments of them getting jump scared by the wolf spiders, “I was looking comfortably at a cute caterpillar with my bf, i turn around to get onto the leaf with them and there’s a wolf spider staring me down right behind me,” a player commented.
Grounded 2 is available for purchase on Steam and Xbox for $29.99, as well as included in the Xbox Game Pass.
