Grand Theft Auto, the action-adventure game developed by Rockstar North and published by Rockstar Games, has had major success since the 2013 release of Grand Theft Auto V, obtaining the highest rating of 10 on IGN.
After more than a decade of anticipation, Rockstar Games has finally announced that Grand Theft Auto VI will launch in May 2026.
The official trailer garnered 126 million views, 6 million likes, and 500,000 comments. Fans showcased their eagerness with comments such as, “At this point, GTA VI is not a game. It’s an emotional experience,” and, “Between GTA 5 and 6, I had two kids, built a house, and learned how to do taxes now I’m finally ready for the heist of my life!” Even the official Guinness World Record account noted the impressive viewer count, “Keeping a keen eye on that views counter,” they stated.
GTA 6: Leaks & Rumors
Millie A, a well-known leaker who has gained the trust of the internet after revealing a Wolverine game was in development before its release, claimed that Grand Theft Auto VI may be delayed until September. Yet fans weren’t easily swayed, users under the subreddit r/GamingLeaksAndRumors addressed the leak but were skeptical of its authenticity. Users left comments such as, “Fake leaker,” along with, “Source: my a**. Guessing everyone could make and sell as ‘leaks.'”
GTA content creator and enthusiast GameRoll, who revealed protagonists Lucia and Jason’s last names before it was officially announced, has also dropped his own set of leaks.
GameRoll explained that his source is the same one who informed him of Lucia and Jason’s last names, and that the source claims to be a friend of a Rockstar Games developer.
Some users trust GameRoll where as most call attention to his lack of credibility, one X user commented, “This info lacks verification beyond the source,” along with, “Your source is pretty useless if he only gives this info after the trailer which kinda already confirmed majority of the stuff you mentioned.”
On the other hand, others were excited with the leak, leaving comments such as, “If all of this is true, then GTA 6 might be the greatest game ever made in human history!” Another commented, “The dual-protagonist control system sounds intriguing. The underwater exploration and 6-star wanted level returning have me hyped.”
Rockstar Games has not responded to the alleged leaks, and Grand Theft Auto VI is still set to be released in May 2026.
