Nintendo recently released in an investor briefing report that declared that no new Nintendo Switch product will be released in 2020.

“Regarding Nintendo Switch, we believe that it is important to continue to communicate the appeal of both Nintendo Switch systems and expand the installed base. Please note that we have no plans to launch a new Nintendo Switch model during 2020,” stated Shuntaro Furukawa, the President of Nintendo.

Nintendo will be divvying up its time creating new and exclusive games, while also enhancing its current software for their Switch and Switch Lite models.

One of the games they confirmed to release in the future, is Animal Crossing: New Horizons. This marks the game’s first release since 2017, when they released Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp for iPhone and android cellphones.

In the series, the player is always sent to an island, or an area where a community of animals resides near. In the open-world game, the player is responsible for running the endless errands that the townsfolk ask of the player. The player is rewarded with forming a genuine community to reside in, but only after you receive your first loan from the greedy business racoon, known as Tom Nook.

To help further propel interest in the game, Nintendo released a Switch that is themed after the new Animal Crossings game. The bundle even includes a protective case.

Animal Crossings: New Horizons is being released in the United States on March 13, 2020 and is available exclusively on the Nintendo Switch and Switch Lite.
